Trekinetic customer review - Alan Mitchell:

"Personal background

I suffered a bad accident back in 2015 which led to complications and as such I required a wheelchair. I have had my eye on a Trekinetic GTE for the last few years. I thoroughly investigated their technology and personal statements for previous customers. This fitted with me for the things I wanted a wheelchair to do ( walk my dogs in all terrains and conditions ) and also make life much easier on a day to day basis. I am an engineer and worked with a high tech multi national company for many years so had a good working knowledge of exactly what they were trying to do but in the wheelchair environment.

Ordering process and vendor

I ordered my GTE during lockdown and the communication with Ed from Trek and the vendor (Mark from fast aid ) was excellent from start to finish. It is quite a challenge to order this wheelchair without being sized for it but providing you are confident with the measurements you provide then it is pretty straight forward. I ordered my chair and received it less than a month later. To say this was outstandingly quick is an understatement. Considering the process involved in making this tech happen, it is very commendable to all involved.

Delivery and first impressions.

Straight out of the box you see what you have paid for. This is an extremely well built bit of kit. From the moment you sit in it you completely understand why they use a monocoque for the comfort aspect but it’s from the engineering side that the monocoque just works. Best way to describe this is the difference between sitting in a 1970’s car and today’s latest and greatest super car. Much more sturdy, lightweight and a hell of a lot more efficient. The whole package just works. It does take a bit of getting used to as it’s unlike any wheelchair you have ever had. Probably the most underrated point of the chair is the forward tipping function whilst fully upright. It makes picking things up of the floor or down low so easy it’s really a joy to behold.

I have had my chair almost 2 weeks now and to be honest I have next to zero issues with it. It can and will go wherever you want it too.Sure there are a couple of things that could be done to enhance it for further iterations but all in all I would put this against anything else out there in its class and bet the mortgage on the outcome.

This product has to be commended to the inspirational ideas of the men and women who work at Trekinetic. I have no doubt that this company is going to evolve into one of the leading worldwide manufacturers of this class of wheelchair......... it is simply that good"
