So much lighter than Alber Smoov One !

I had been looking at power add-ons for a while. I had previously owned a set of Alber E-Motions and they were very reliable but they are heavy wheels compared to my every day Spinergy LXs and i struggle to lift them into the car even when i take them off the chair; they are also very heavy to push when i forget to charge the batteries. So i decided to look at the Alber Smoov One which attaches the rear of the chair and lets user use own wheels. Its a great bit of kit and has a proper wheel which can go offroad but i still found it a bit heavy. The local John Preston rep bought out a range of wheelchair power add-ons for me to try including the latest Smartdrive MX2+. It is much lighter than the Alber Smoov - ok it doesnt perform well on rough terrain like the Smoov but i can live with that as i have a Firefly attachment and offroad wheels now too for going offroad! The Smartdrive has a choice of controls and i opted for the new SwitchControl Dial which is very intuative to use and not too techy - very similar to the one on the Smoov. I am very happy with the MX2+ - i would highly recommend you try out a number of different power add-ons before buying so you can get the right one for your individual needs. Preston's have a fantastic range with plenty of choice.

I upgraded from my original Smartdrive MX1 to the latest generation MX2+ and cannot believe how much this has improved. The integrated battery is one of the big differences and I can now use my apple watch to control it via the IOS app. 5 out 5 for me:)
