We now have stock of the incredibly popular Rio Firefly 2.0 available for delivery anywhere in the UK and Ireland.    This electric handcycle can travel at speeds of up to 8mph with the factory limiter left on but with this removed it can be as fast as 12mph. It attaches easily to the front of most fixed front wheelchairs and can also be used on a selection of folding wheelchairs.  You can email us photos of your chair to and we will happily liaise with you as to the suitability of this terrific product for your circumstances.

The battery is lithium and offers a range of up to 15 miles and if you need or want an additional battery we can supply these too.

One of the advantages of the lithium battery is the fast you can charge this over 3000 times which is far more than traditional lead/acid batteries. Everyone who has used the Rio Firefly 2.0 finds it easy to control because the lay out of the controls have been very well designed. There is of course a reverse drive too in the model! We do advise that you speak to your Healthcare professional in the first instance as to the suitability of the Rio Firefly 2.0 but it can be used by children as well as adults. There are various options in regards to clamps and there are oval clamps available for the likes of the Quickie Helium and the Quickie Argon. It comes set up for right hand use but this can be changed if you wish. The controls change direction so can take a little time to get used to but evidently achievable.

It cannot be used on the public road in the UK however as it is not a Class 3 product.
