Drive Sentra Self Propelled Bariatric Wheelchair

The Drive Sentra Self Propelled Wheelchair is designed for users who require a larger, stronger manual wheelchair without giving up practical features such as folding, removable armrests and adjustable footrests. With a maximum user weight of 200kg (31 stone) and three available seat widths, the Sentra is particularly suited to users looking for a bariatric self propelled wheelchair with generous seating space. Drive offers the Sentra Self Propel in 20", 22" and 24" seat options, allowing the wheelchair dimensions to be better matched to the individual user.

31 Stone Maximum User Weight

The Sentra has been designed around the needs of larger wheelchair users. All three self-propelled versions have a manufacturer-specified maximum user weight of 200kg / 31 stone. This substantial capacity combines with a strong carbon-steel frame and dual cross-brace construction for dependable everyday support.

Choice of 20", 22" or 24" Seat Widths

The Sentra is available in three generous seat widths:

20" model: 51cm / 20.1" seat width
22" model: 55cm / 21.7" seat width
24" model: 61cm / 24" seat width

All versions have a 46cm / 18.1" seat depth and a 53cm / 20.9" seat height.

This choice of widths makes the Sentra easier to specify for different body sizes while keeping the same core design and functionality.

Self Propelled for Independent Mobility

The Sentra Self Propel features large rear wheels with plastic hand rims, allowing users who are able to manually propel the wheelchair to move independently.

The chair also includes attendant-accessible braking, making it suitable where another person may occasionally assist with control.

Attendant & User Accessible Brakes

Drive equips the Sentra Self Propel with parking brakes accessible to both the user and attendant.

The self-propelled model also includes attendant drum brakes on the handles, providing additional control when the wheelchair is being pushed by another person.

Removable Desk-Style Armrests

The Sentra features padded desk-style armrests. Their shorter profile allows the wheelchair to pull closer to tables and work surfaces, while the padding provides additional comfort.

Durable Carbon Steel Frame

The Sentra uses a sturdy carbon-steel frame finished in black. A dual cross-brace adds structural support while retaining the ability to fold the wheelchair for transportation and storage. Despite its heavy-duty construction, the chair uses a straightforward folding mechanism and closes to approximately 33cm / 13" wide.

Easy-Clean Vinyl Upholstery

The Sentra is upholstered in double-embossed vinyl. Drive describes the material as supportive, durable, lightweight and easy to clean, making it particularly practical for regular everyday use and care environments.

Solid Tyres for Low Maintenance

All Sentra models feature solid tyres, reducing the maintenance associated with pneumatic tyres and eliminating puncture concerns. At the front, the wheelchair uses 20.3cm / 8" solid castors. These front castors can also be height adjusted through three positions.

Dual Axle for Hemi-Height Adjustment

The self propelled Sentra includes a dual axle position. This allows the seat height to be transitioned to a lower hemi-level position, providing additional configuration flexibility where appropriate.
