The AlertaMat Crash Mat with Wireless Nurse Call Alert is an innovative bedside fall-management solution designed to help minimise injury if a user falls from bed while simultaneously alerting a caregiver that assistance may be required.
Unlike a conventional bedside crash mat, the AlertaMat incorporates sensor pads and an Alerta Wireless Transmitter within the foam. When a fall occurs onto the mat, the system can communicate wirelessly with an Alerta Wall Point Receiver, providing an alert so that carers can respond.
The system can be integrated with a compatible nurse call system for centralised alerts or used independently with the Alerta Wall Point Receiver to provide a local alert. Measuring 180 x 60 cm when unfolded and providing 6 cm of cushioning, the AlertaMat also features a genuine non-slip base and practical PU wipe-clean surface. When not required, the mat simply folds in half for easier transportation and storage.
Combines Fall Protection with Caregiver Alerts
The AlertaMat Crash Mat has been designed to perform two important functions.
- Firstly, its cushioned construction provides a protective surface alongside the bed to help minimise injury should the user fall from bed.
- Secondly, integrated sensor pads detect when the user lands on the mat and trigger the wireless alert system.
This means the product doesn't simply provide cushioning after a fall – it can also alert caregivers that the user may require assistance.
Helps Prevent Falls Going Undetected
A conventional crash mat may help cushion a fall, but it cannot tell a caregiver that the fall has occurred. The AlertaMat addresses this by incorporating sensor technology directly into the crash mat.
When activated, the system alerts the caregiver, helping reduce the risk of a user remaining on the floor or crash mat undetected for an unknown period. This makes it particularly valuable in environments where individuals at risk of falling from bed require monitoring and timely assistance.
Integrated Sensor Pads
Sensor pads are incorporated within the foam of the crash mat. This keeps the sensing technology contained within the protective mat rather than requiring a separate floor sensor to be positioned alongside it. The result is an integrated solution combining impact cushioning and fall detection within a single bedside product.
Wireless Transmitter Included
The system is supplied with an Alerta Wireless Transmitter. This battery-powered transmitter communicates wirelessly with a compatible Alerta Wall Point Receiver, eliminating the need for a cable running between the crash mat and receiver.
The wireless transmitter operates using: 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries This cable-free design can help reduce clutter around the bedside and provides greater flexibility when positioning the equipment.
Up to 95 Metres Wireless Range
Alerta specifies a wireless range of up to 95 metres between the transmitter and receiver.
This provides useful flexibility when installing the system within appropriate care environments.

Compatible with Nurse Call Systems
The AlertaMat can be connected through the Alerta Wall Point Receiver to a compatible nurse call system, allowing activation to be communicated centrally.
