The Vicair XXtra Bariatric cushion is based on the Adjuster with similar features but is available in sizes up to 30x30”/ 750x750mm. This cushion also offers an impressive user weight of 78.7 stone/ 500kg and is still light weight, providing a safe and stable support surface.The Vicair cushions provide a unique combination of superior pressure re-distribution, comfort and optimal positioning, making it suitable for clients at 'Very High Risk'* of developing pressure ulcers. The cushions can be adjusted in cell density and customised to fit the client's contours, offering high quality postural support. The SoftCellsTM provide a dynamic seating surface that can be adjusted to accommodate a range of postural asymmetries.

Unique design

Each cushion offers a unique and innovative approach to body support. Each cushion contains hundreds of SoftCellsTM which are small air filled, pyramid shaped cells contained in strategically placed compartments. These flexible, fabric coated cells have a low friction level when in contact with each other and continuously adapt and conform to the body’s contours.

Optimal positioning and pressure reduction

With high levels of pressure reduction, the cushions still provide a comfortable surface with excellent stability and improved positioning. This makes the Academy range suitable for those at 'Very High Risk' of developing pressure ulcers.

Light weight and low maintenance

This innovative design results in a cushion range which is safe, easy to maintain and lightweight. There is no risk of the cushion deflating so if a SoftCellTM does get damaged, the single cell can be replaced rather than the entire cushion.

As for maintenance, once the cushion has been adjusted to the clients needs, there is little staff intervention required with minimal disruption for the client, as daily checks are not necessary. This ultra lightweight cushion is easy to lift and transfer from chair to chair, making it ideal for active users.
