Introducing the LITH-TECH Range of Folding Electric Wheelchairs at John Preston

We are pleased to introduce the LITH-TECH range of folding electric wheelchairs, now available from John Preston Medical & Mobility.

Designed to combine powered mobility with practical folding designs, LITH-TECH wheelchairs offer a convenient solution for users who want greater independence without the bulk associated with many traditional powered wheelchairs.

From the exceptionally compact LITH-TECH Mini, through the versatile Pro Max and Pro Max XL, to the heavy-duty LITH-TECH Titan, the range offers options for different user requirements, lifestyles and levels of support.

Why Choose a Folding Electric Wheelchair?

A folding electric wheelchair can offer an excellent balance between everyday mobility and portability.

Unlike larger powerchairs, folding models are designed to reduce in size for transport and storage, making them particularly useful for days out, shopping trips, holidays and travelling by car.

Depending on the model, benefits of the LITH-TECH range can include:

• Compact folding designs for easier transport and storage

• Lithium battery power

• Brushless electric motors

• Puncture-resistant solid tyres

• Joystick-controlled powered mobility

• Models suited to different user sizes and weight requirements

• Options designed for indoor and outdoor use

• Greater independence when travelling or enjoying everyday activities

Here is a closer look at the four models joining the John Preston range.

LITH-TECH Mini

The LITH-TECH Mini is purpose-built for children, teenagers and smaller adults who need a compact powered wheelchair without sacrificing everyday performance.

Weighing approximately 18.5kg excluding its batteries, the Mini is exceptionally portable and folds in around two seconds. Its compact dimensions make it particularly useful for manoeuvring in tighter spaces and for transporting in the boot of a car.

Power comes from twin 200W brushless motors, while two quick-release 6Ah lithium batteries provide a manufacturer-stated realistic range of approximately 8–10 miles, depending on user weight and conditions.

Key features

• Designed for children and smaller adults

• Lightweight aluminium alloy frame

• Approx. 18.5kg excluding batteries

• Two-second folding mechanism

• Twin 200W brushless motors

• Two removable 6Ah lithium batteries

• Manufacturer-stated real-world range of approximately 8–10 miles

• Maximum user weight of 90kg

• Speeds from approximately 0.5 to 4mph

• Solid puncture-resistant tyres

• Compact 32cm seat width

• Suitable for hard ground including grass

Benefits

For families and smaller users, the Mini provides the convenience of a genuinely compact powered wheelchair while retaining the performance needed for everyday trips.

Its low weight also makes lifting and transportation more manageable than many conventional electric wheelchairs, while removable batteries can further reduce the weight being handled.

LITH-TECH Pro Max

The LITH-TECH Pro Max is positioned as a versatile folding electric wheelchair for users looking for a combination of portability, comfort and capable everyday powered mobility.

Its folding construction means it can be stored more conveniently at home or transported for days out and longer journeys, while powered joystick control gives the user the freedom to travel independently.

Key features

• Lightweight folding electric wheelchair
• Folds in approximately 2 seconds
• Aerospace-grade aluminium frame
• Quick-release brushless motors
• Weight reduces to just 15kg for lifting
• Twin airline-approved lithium batteries
• Up to 15-mile range

Benefits

The Pro Max is designed to provide a practical balance between mobility performance and transportability.

Ideal for users who need a powered wheelchair for regular everyday use while still wanting a chair that can be folded for storage or transportation.

LITH-TECH Pro Max XL

For users who need additional space and capacity, the LITH-TECH Pro Max XL takes the advantages of the Pro Max platform and combines them with an XL configuration.

The additional space can make a significant difference to comfort, particularly for users who require a wider seating position while still wanting the convenience offered by a folding electric wheelchair.

Key features

• XL folding electric wheelchair

• Wider seating configuration

• Extra-wide folding electric wheelchair

• Maximum user weight 160kg (25 stone)
• Aerospace-grade aluminium frame
• Lightweight folding design
• Folds in approximately two seconds
• Twin 250W brushless motors
• Electromagnetic braking system
• Front suspension
• Airline-friendly removable lithium batteries*
• Up to 16-mile maximum range

Benefits

The Pro Max XL is intended for users who require more space without immediately moving to a much larger traditional powerchair.

A wider seating area can improve overall comfort and positioning, while the folding format helps retain the practical benefits of easier storage and transportation.

An additional 5cm space between armrests compared to the Pro Max makes the XL a more comfortable option

LITH-TECH Titan

At the heavy-duty end of the range sits the LITH-TECH Titan.

Designed for users who need significantly greater capacity and a larger seating area, the Titan combines a strong aluminium alloy chassis with twin 350W brushless motors and two substantial 15Ah lithium batteries.

The Titan  boasts a max user weight of 250kg, and a comfortable 50cm seat width.

Key features

• Heavy-duty folding electric wheelchair

• Aluminium alloy construction

• Approx. 41kg excluding batteries

• Maximum user weight of 250kg

• Twin 350W brushless motors

• Two 15Ah lithium batteries

• Range up to 10 miles

• Speeds from approximately 4mph

• Large 13.5-inch solid rear tyres

• 50cm-wide seat

• 50cm seat depth

Benefits

The Titan provides an option for users whose requirements go beyond the capacity of a typical lightweight folding electric wheelchair.

Its wider and deeper seat, substantially higher maximum user weight and powerful twin-motor system make it particularly suitable for users looking for a stronger, more spacious powered mobility solution.

Despite its heavy-duty construction, the Titan still retains a folding design, helping to make storage and transportation more practical than with many conventional large powerchairs.

Which LITH-TECH Folding Electric Wheelchair Is Right for You?

Choosing the right electric wheelchair depends on much more than simply comparing specifications.

The user's height and weight, seating requirements, intended journeys, typical terrain, transportation arrangements and ability to transfer into and out of the chair should all be considered.

As a general guide:

LITH-TECH Mini – ideal for children who prioritise a compact, lightweight chair.

LITH-TECH Pro Max – a versatile everyday option for users looking for a balance of performance, comfort and portability.

LITH-TECH Pro Max XL – designed for users who want the benefits of the Pro Max with additional seating space.

LITH-TECH Titan – the heavy-duty choice for users requiring substantially greater user-weight capacity, space and motor power.
