Founded in 1846, by Sir John Preston; John Preston & Co today remains a family owned and operated business, distributing an extensive range of medical, healthcare and mobility products and equipment.
We have a number of operational divisions including:
Healthcare Consumables - we supply a wide range of consumable goods e.g. Patient wipes, continence pads, adult bibs and janitorial products to the Health services in the UK and Ireland as well as nursing care facilities.
Rehabilitation equipment - we supply a range of rehabilitation equipment to the health services and nursing facilities for use in hospitals, nursing care and in community care e.g. patient moving and handling equipment like hoists, wheelchairs, pressure care equipment like cushions and mattresses and much more.
Service Centre - Our service centre offers a wide variety of services:
Equipment Repair, servicing and planned maintenance solutions to suit our various client groups; from providing a callout and repair service to the general public for mobility equipment like scooters and riser recliners, to services for hospitals and nursing facilities for the repair and planned preventative maintenance and servicing of hoists and adjustable beds.
Equipment Decontamination; we supply the Health Services in Ireland to provide a range of solutions for community care appliances.
These can include
1. Home Delivery and Collection of community care equipment
2. Deep cleaning and decontamination to MHRA standards of community care equipment (ranging from cushions and mattresses to adjustable beds and hoists) in our purpose built facility in Northern Ireland.
3. Servicing e.g. Wheelchairs, alternating pressure mattresses, suction machines
4. Repair e.g All manner of repair work for healthcare equipment like hoists, specialist seating, wheelchairs etc including re-upholstery, paintwork retouching
5. Functional testing including Battery testing for powerchairs and mobility scooters and reprogramming of powerchairs settings e.g. accelerations , speed etc
6. MRSA contaminated Equipment - A dedicated service for urgent uplift of known MRSA / C.Difficile contaminated equipment to be collected, segregated and deep cleaned and decontaminated and tested before return to the customer.

Pharmacy Division - We supply a wide range of products for hospital pharmacy department?s e.g. Oral liquid delivery systems, syringes and IV administration systems etc

The Living Centre - The Living Centre is our online purchasing store where the general public and nursing facilities can view a wide range of products including mobility, rehabilitation and daily living aids from the comfort and convenience of their own home.
The Living centre is complemented by our mobility shops "The Living Centre" based in Lisburn, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland and "West Highland Mobilty" based in Oban, Argyll, Scotland. Our mobility shops allow you to meet with our product specialists face to face at the shops or indeed in your own home for their expert advice and assistance, see the products at first hand and get a full demonstration of their features.
Our customer base includes nursing homes and hospitals, therapists and the public throughout Ireland and the UK.
